This documentation provides the science description of the CCPP physics used in Hierarchical System Development (HSD) capabilities. Detailed descriptions of HSD case configurations, workflows, and usage are provided in the UFS Weather Model Users Guide developed under the EPIC program. This SciDoc complements that material by focusing on the scientific basis of the CCPP physics suites and parameterizations.
